RIP EDITH ARMOUR 09/02/1929 - 12/04/2019

Edith – also known to many of us as Auntie – became a member of the Hermanus Golf Club in 1983.

She was a familiar figure in both the Hermanus League and the Rooibos (now known as the Inter-Club) Tournament as well as being one of the stalwarts of our Ladies Section.

Edith was a founder member in Nell Masson’s Thursday Group which THIRTY YEARS later is still very active!

Auntie was also awarded Life Membership by Western Province Seniors.

Edith has been Club Champion on five different golf courses: She won at Humewood, Royal Durban, Durban Country Club, Mount Edgecomb as well as all three Championship Divisions in
Hermanus!!

Auntie was a single figure handicap playing off a 4. It doesn’t stop here – 8 holes in one.

Edith was a very strong and positive character who simply never gave up on anything. It was only in May last year when Edith, at the age of 89 won the Charter Cup in Hermanus together with her partner Pauline Metcalfe.

We will miss her – particularly her pointing that little finger.

RIP Dear Edith, and may all your putts drop on the golden greens of heaven.
